WHO WE ARE

Your Hosts...

Dr. Jim & Charlotte Loving

Jim and Charlotte Loving have been serving as promoters of gospel music for more than 40 years. While Jim served as a professor and college administrator in Minneapolis, and Charlotte worked as a space planner for Ameriprise Financial, the couple developed the popular Twin Cities Quartet Convention that attracted thousands to the Twin Cities. The two retired and moved back to Indiana in 2011, only to find themselves involved once again in gospel music promotion with the Shane Brothers and the Gospel Barn of Bluffton. Jim was born in Evansville, and Charlotte was born in southern Illinois. The two traveled coast to coast in full-time and part-time music ministry for four decades. "This is labor of love for us," Jim says. "We never tire of this great music and its potent message." Jim and Charlotte have a son, Philip, and one grandson, both in Indianapolis.

Mike & Michelle Shane

Mike and Michelle Shane grew up in the church, and both have loved music from their youngest days. Mike's grandfather was a memorable song leader in Mike's home church in Bluffton, and Mike's dad saw to it that gospel quartets like the Blackwood Brothers, the Statesmen Quartet and the Stamps Quartet were always played on the family's turntable. It was inevitable that Mike and his two brothers would grow up loving harmony. The family even performed as a quartet. Today, Mike and his brothers, Jeff and Rick, still sing in their popular local group, named aptly, the Shane Brothers.

Our
Mission & Values

The Shane Brothers have been singing for nearly 25 years and have recorded approximately 15 albums.

The members of this popular group have recorded more than 40 albums. And, it was inevitable. After all, the Shane brothers grew up in a singing family, and - day after day - the home stereo blared quartet music. The Blackwood Brothers, the Stamps, the Statesmen, the Oak Ridge Boys, the Kingsmen - permeated the Shane household. Too, the brothers' formative years were spent attending church events - revivals, camp meetings and numerous youth camps. Music, especially four-part harmony, was always included.

Most of the group’s appearances are in churches, campgrounds and concerts. The team has been privileged to sing with notables like Glen Campbell, the Booth Brothers, the Kingsmen, Triumphant Quartet and many others.

The group’s mission is to provide ministry through southern gospel music in a wholesome way to families and individuals who attend. The members hope to expand the ministry and attract more people not only from Indiana but from the surrounding states.
